In a bright day, the peak of Mount Rinjani on the island of Lombok appears clearly from the peak of the Mount Agung .
The last eruption was in 1963-64. Many villages were destroyed in this eruption.
Over 1,000 people were killed.
Climbing up the Mountain as unique adventure
Starting point from Besakih. Climber will start at about 1100 meters above sea level. It will reach a higher peak of the mount. It takes about 4,5 hours to get the top.
Starting point from Pura Pasar Agung, on the southern slope of the mountain, near Selat and which is reputed to take 4 hours.
It is located in the north coast of Bali island. It’s about 20 km west of Singaraja city. Lovina Beach is well known for dolphin attractions, so no wonder a statue shaped dolphins 5 meters height was built near the entrance of Lovina area. One thing that is unique because very few objects tourist beach on the island of Indonesia offers dolphin attractions.To see the dolphin attraction, visitors are expected to depart early in the morning about 6 o'clock local time. The boat rental should be done previous day afternoon, there will be more time to select the boat and make a bid. Lovina is accommodated with various hotels with rates quite low, as the Bali bomb tragedy many hotels decrease the rate to attract visitors.
Around 6 o'clock in the morning, the boat that we got on moving off the beach. Slow but sure, we were moving toward the location where dolphins usually exhibit their best performance to jump on the water. It’s about 15-30 minute to wait while we continue to move on our boat, we do not see the dolphins at all. The atmosphere changed when suddenly our guide shouted while pointing something to the location where a group of dolphins jumping on the water. We immediately moved to the location, and some other boats moved towards the same direction. Truly, this is the first time I see the attraction dolphins in natural environment closely. Some of the dolphins jumped relax in the air to show rare attraction that is difficult to find out in the other major tourist beaches. The visitors were busy to take this rare moment with the "tool" which were brought, just to cover the scene. Camera and handy cam started to record attraction of a dolphin from which was difficult to get the right moment. Attraction became more interesting when small dolphins also exhibited its best performance. Moreover, it was wonderful thing when a group of dolphins suddenly appeared from the edge of our boat. Almost an hour to enjoy their attractions, and when the sun rise up, the dolphins eventually disappear.
After the dolphin attraction, our guide took us to the location where the coral reefs can be seen quite clearly from the top of the boat. Wow, it was like to see a giant aquarium with clearly visible coral reefs and colorful fish back and forth around our boat. It became more fun when our guide spread some bread on the water, so we were so busy to feed the fish without any distance. The sun rose up and got heat, a sign to take over the attraction in this Lovina beach. The boat started moving slowly toward the coast, leaving the location to the beach, however we got more fun there.
The view from Kintamani is stunning, across the crater of Mount Batur which rises in the background above beautiful Lake Batur. Mount Batur is 1717 meters (5633 feet) high and remains an active volcano.
Here the air is cool as we begin our trip down. We pass through coffee and salak (snakefruit) plantations, rice fields and small traditional Balinese villages where you will experience the healthy beauty of Balinese daily life.
For around three hours you will ride gently downhill through some of the most beautiful areas of Bali, and finish with a sumtuous Indonesian lunch in Ubud, Bali’s cultural center.
Batur Cycling (Kintamani)
Kintamani cycling offers a biker to the depth nature of Balinese natural environment along the downhill of Batur and Kitamani area. The orientation is on the nature and socio-adventure. The adventure begins from the cooler climates of Bali Mountain region. Riding a mountain bike with safety equipment is an exciting trip from the beautiful panorama of Kintamani or Batur spectacular volcanic landscape, we take a breath for the fresh air will give us another way of healthy life while getting vocation in Bali.
We may stop and take some unique pictures while riding a bike downhill. Villages along the way are so specials. These offer more about real life for Balinese doing their daily activities. We see the old temples compounds, tropical green forest, various farming system, offering activities for Balinese, narrow path village to follow along rare-used roads and tracks.
Sometimes we also meet many children just come back from local school. They wave us to say welcome and hello. This is very enjoyable trip to do. An air-conditioned escort vehicle is on standby at the end of your trip to take you to enjoy a replenishing buffet luncheon before returning to your hotel.
Being accompanied by guides that they are so familiar with the environment of the adventure area will discuss and share along the trip. This is a healthy, fun and educational tour.
