Note on riding a bike was long time ago recorded in Bali. It is located in Buleleng regency, in the Kubutambahan village and is widely accepted to be a depiction of W.O.J. Nieuwenkamp, a Dutch artist who was the first person to bring a bicycle to the island in 1904. A complete description of a man riding a bicycle with flower petals for wheels was carved on the wall of Pura _ Temple Maduwe _ Karang.



Nieuwenkampf, a Dutch artist who first explored Bali at the beginning of the century. He travelled around the island by bike, stopping to make sketches of the temples and religious events he witnessed.  Pura Maduwe Karang means Temple of the Land Owner.

There are some reasons why most people choose cycling for the outdoors activity in Bali. In the mountain area, the air is still fresh and clean. Vocation in Bali with BikeBali is not only for the exploration but also for the healthy activities with your partner or your beloved family. Bike adventure is also easy. Cycling is conducted for the downhill and follow the traffic with no jam and no crowded path. The most interesting one is the original condition of Balinese village with their daily activities. What else….

Our cycling _ adventure team is developing for any tour in Bali with more best partner selections too. Cycling is an interesting activity weather for solo adventurer or big group adventurers. Cycling in Bali  takes a wonderful two, three or even more than four hour downhill  _ ride through villages and rice fields. Typically Kintamani  cycling tour starts with a walk through a spice plantation and morning coffee, then on to Kintamini for breakfast overlooking the lake at Mount Batur. The cycling tour will be concluded with a unique Balinese meal at a traditional Balinese compound or house.

When the cycling trip passes one village to the other Balinese villages, we will find the real life of the villagers. Some Balinese farmers do their activities on rice fields or sometimes walk on the road with something on their shoulder or something on the head _ carrying a basket of grass  on her head _ for Balinese woman. Local children approach us wave their hands, call out and are eager to slap hands as they are cheer us on the road. Cycling in Bali just completely observe many original Bali life and unique nature. It is about nature when it is combined with Balinese people  treat their environment in harmonious way. The cycling trip will give us direct explanation along the way for the rice growing in Bali with their well known irrigation system _ Subak, the village temple and Balinese meeting hall. Frequently stops will be more chances to get  more pictures to shoot. Half of the journey passed, we take a rest for refreshments and a detailed discussion for clear description of village life.

Then cycling tour takes the next road,  a number of guides are always riding  with us and a van always near by to transport anyone unable to ride the full distance.
